INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY BUILDING GRAND ROUND 2020

An estimated $85million have been set aside for distribution amongst the applicants of the Information, Linkages and Capacity building program (ILC) meant to grant the required funds for the continued operation of many service platforms helping people facing disabilities.

The Individual Capacity Building (ICB) 2020-2021 round of grants is meant to equip programs which further allow access to support groups and communities, guidance and mentoring resources as well as skill-based vocational training for people facing disabilities.

This year, the grant will be focused on providing funding to the following organization types:

1. Disabled People’s Organizations – Organizations run by people with disabilities working for people with disabilities

2. Families Organizations – Organizations run by families of people experiencing disabilities for people experiencing disabilities and their families.

3. Priority Cohort Led Organizations – Organizations which aim to better the conditions of a certain group or subset of the main community including but not limited to:

a. Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders

b. Cultural-diverse communities

c. LGBTIQA+ communities;

d. People experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness; and

e. Children and young people (0-24 years).

Note: DPO’s and FO’s will have the opportunity to apply for their own organizational capacity building.

The deadline for applications is 22 nd Apri 2020, 2:00 PM AEST. While the program aims to target the greatest amount of efforts for covering the greatest amount of the population, the participating communities and bodies are encouraged to share their feedback of the application process as well as the general experience overall. Also, the grant would focus on applicants who were not successful in getting funds in the last round of 2019-2020.
